To begin with the word “tarot” can both be found in the English and French language. It is believed to hail from the Italian “tarocchi”, a word that unfortunately does not have any common meaning to support it. There are a a multitude of theories that want to explain the nature and origins of this psychic word.

A lot of people say that it might have been named after the famous Taro River, which is a body of water located in Parma in North Italy. This is because the method of tarot reading is believed to have been introduced in Milan, a famous area which can likewise be seen in Northern Italy.

Many accurate psychic individuals also point its beginnings to the Arabic word “turuq” which accidentally refers to pathways.

While others unite these two theories by stating that the French term “tarocco” comes from the Arabic “tarh” which stands for rejection or deduction. All in all, the origin of this word is still being debated on up to this day.

The use of tarot cards is believed to have come from Egypt and was introduced to the western world during the 14th century. Today it is widely used by many accurate psychic individuals to make predictions about the future.
