Some Celebrities Use NLP To Get Over Their Confidence Issues

By Richard Morley

A lack in self-confidence can be a problem that everyone can relate to. A sudden decrease in confidence and self esteem can occur throughout your career or in the daily life as a parent or guardian. If you have suffered a dip in self-esteem, then there are many others in your situation. The most popular athletes, and celebrities can also experience the same problems. NLP is a common tool used by them to overcome these.

Neuro Linguistic Programming, more commonly known as NLP, is a practice that studies human communication and the control of it. It examines human thought patterns, behaviours and beliefs to assist in understanding how an individual can control them.

Celebrities that have previously used NLP for their self-development include; Oprah Winfrey, Tony Robbins, Sophie Dahl, Heston Blumenthal, Lily Allen, Gerri Halliwell and Jimmy Carr.

The reasons for low confidence levels can be the same whatever your situation. You are likely to share common emotions and thoughts with your favourite celebrity – after all they are only human! These initial causes for self-esteem issues may be; social phobias, feelings of guilt or inadequacy or allowing fear to become an obstacle within your life. NLP will encourage your confidence mainly by teaching self-perception. This means understanding your reaction to any situation and listening to your inner subconscious thoughts and feelings. One NLP idea is that you should be able to tap into the feelings you experienced through a previous success – and then relate this to development of your self-confidence.

NLP is a complicated methodology which has a huge amount to offer to anyone with confidence issues. It does take some time to fully understand but with the help of an NLP teacher it can be simple to utilise. With NLP you are not required to analyse painful past experiences in order to progress, which is why many people choose it as a form of self-development therapy.
