Dawn Of The Indian Virtual World In Cyber Space

By Sanjana Pai

Virtual world has been a familiar term since long. Online portals like Second Life have been a huge success round the American and European nations but this is something new that has hit the third world nations like India. By referring to the above statement we are obviously referring to Chimpoo.com and GoJiyo.com.

Chimpoo.com is a virtual world that is developed to be an interactive game for the young minds of India. It basically targets the children less than 13 years of age. Well there is not an official declaration by the company that it is something being developed for the above mentioned age group.

But the applications or segments that are there in the game are more suitable for that age group. The fact of it being a first virtual world from India wasn’t really marketed very well. So the promotion was inevitably just left to word of mouth publicity.

Considering it being a first of its kind project, the graphics are fairly well and so are its modes. But in failed to pull in more audience and gain maximum exposure. Thus the game is not very popular.

Another virtual world brand that recently got launched in India by a national company was the GoJiyo by Godrej. GoJiyo is more of an interactive game and not really similar to the life simulators. The reason I say that is because the events get updated on a daily basis and there is no monotony.

Its graphics are also pretty descent quality and so are the textures. The game has a variety of worlds under the GoJiyo world eg. NOOM, SOLARIA, MAURYAVAAS, TARQUA, SNOWFLASH and RE-JANM. It is good platform that Godrej has provided for the online entertainment seekers. There is much more for one to explore.

The best to know about the game is to register and PLAY. Handling of the game is also too simple as you have help window on your screen which gives you a decent idea about how to go about the game.

As mentioned earlier these are the stepping stones, there are a lot of areas that can be improved on but as a new segment in the Indian virtual world area it is a thumbs up.

All you ever wanted to know about GoJiyo is right here. Check out the GoJiyo website to know more.
