Have you ever observed a great accomplishment by someone, perhaps an athlete beating all odds, only to achieve the seemingly impossible? What did it feel like in those moments following the accomplishment? When I think of things that I have accomplished that have met goals I have set or someone else that has done the same, I feel a sense of complete happiness.

Is there a secret about happiness that allows us to feel it increasingly when we do something we set out to? When we do something that we dream about, a part of us grows and matures, isn’t that what it feels like? Does viewing other people do amazing things show us that we can do the same things and instill a hope that one day we can or will get that place? Are those the intense sensations that we encounter when we watch it firsthand?

Sara Bronfman is heiress to the Seagram empire. With the education to help with issues stemming from moral and humanitarian roots, she takes part in the Ethical Humanitarian Foundation, of which she is a trustee. Now, why would a person who has an affluence of resources choose to invest her time in humanitarian pursuits? What does this do for the universe? If so, what are they?

If you know the feeling of watching others overcome obstacles, then you can see a type of relation in this picture. That experience alone opens up the possibility for others to meet or exceed. Because every person is capable of doing the same things, why couldn’t we do what others do? Competition becomes important since there is a natural instance to beat whatever records have been set in the past.

When there is a liberty to advance in all areas of goals, doesn’t it make sense to put these efforts to good use through humanitarian projects? When looking at it from different perspectives, it doesn’t seem to be something that would change with a few people, but many. How would our world change in the instance that much of our population decided to go for the things they really wanted, with a positive attitude? Seeing people change in steps is something that can be accomplished through this humanitarian attitude. So, how do we begin this changing process?

One of the starting points to reaching our goals as a unit is to change our ethical way of thinking. In what way could this change the world? The ethics that we believe in, let us make changes in our lives and make serious life-changing events happen. If a person doesn’t have an ethical foundation, chances are their day-to-day actions are not reaching for the stars. If a person has a very enduring ethical foundation, it is likely that they are making good, solid decisions. Each time a person steps above the norm, they bring the world at a whole new standard of success. Society can go places we didn’t think possible if everyone worked in unison to get further in these goals. Like a circle, we will extend to go further which each inspiring act. Inspiration breeds newer heights. Who wouldn’t agree that these types of humanitarian efforts could make us all better people and make the world a better place?
