Mesrine Online Free Watch

By Anson Tyler

Here it is another biopic! Yes, this is the exact reaction a person will give whenever he hears about a movie from such a genre. Making a movie based on real life characters and their real stories is a very difficult task as everybody starts providing their own viewpoints about the development of the movie. Right from the actors to the location, the movie becomes a talking point of the town or in today’s case the whole world.

Numerous biopics have shown their prowess on the screen, right from being downright stupid to classics. Mesrine: L’ennemi public no 1, is a movie based on the infamous French criminal who lived a large than life existence in the 50′s era. This movie is the second part of the biopic directed by Jean-Franois Richet. This feature film captures the later part of the life of Jacques Mesrine.

Like its previous part this movie also opens with a death sequence of Mesrine. Then we are taken in the flashback which shows us the exploits that Mesrine undertakes including some daring escapes from many high security prisons to robbing casinos and banks. This movie shows Mesrine as a thorough professional who shoots to kill for business. There is no malice in his way of work. To him robberies, escapes and heists are just a part of his daily life that he has to wake up and do.

A character role of Mesrine has been played by Vincent Cassel. His approach to the character has added many dimensions, as a result Mesrine has become the one person whom you will love and hate at the same time. After this movie this is no surprise that Cassel will be in the big league and he is going to do numerous roles but none can compare this performance.

One of the highlights of Mesrine: L’ennemi public no 1 is the escape scene from one of the prisons with a friend he had made during his jail time, Franois Besse. When on a run they both form a close alliance and finally make a near invincible gang. Both of them are shown to be completely opposite to each other. While Mesrine is a flamboyant, Franois Besse on the other hand who thinks it is stupid to act like a dare devil. But despite they mutually respect towards each other.

These movies depict Mesrine as a cool and calculated criminal rather than a lunatic as he has been often perceived, although he did have occasional outbursts of emotion. Like his constant fights with his wife or the instance when he brutally tortures and murders a journalist for tainting his public image by calling his a terrorist and traitor to his peers.

The movie on the whole is a treat to watch. It captures the essence of one of the most infamous criminals in the history. The screenplay is flawless and there is hard to find a shortcoming in such a masterpiece!
