Experience Loads Of Music Wherever You Go With A Portable MP3 Player

By Ricky Belekan

Portable players have been changing things since the 1970′s when the boombox was introduced. It had several nicknames that have long since gone by, and now we just refer to our portables as MP3 players. We have advanced considerably from the cassette player and radio combination and have upgraded to CD and even DVD players. Continue reading to find out how you can enjoy more music on the go with a portable mp3 player.

In the 90′s, our opinions had completely changed, and we wanted everything to be small and lightweight. Of course, we wised up because this makes much more sense than carrying a huge box on your shoulder. The new boomboxes are not just small, but they are light, and a single disc that can be played in them can hold massive amounts of music in MP3 format.

MP3 is representative of MPEG-1 Audio Layer 3, which is an encoding used to compress audio data. It is also used to both record and play back audio files. MP3 was created by Moving Pictures Expert Group, who are a team of engineers from several labs. It was created to be a part of MPEG-1. In 1991, it was approved by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) which are a joint committee.

To state it simply, MP3 give approximately the same quality of sound in much less space. In technical terms, it is actually compressing or shrinking the audio and it still sounds virtually the same to our ears. You are able to choose the bit rate of transfer when copying, but for the most part, MP3 can be as much as eleven times smaller than the size of CD.

Humans have weaknesses, and taking advantage of that weakness is how MP3 actually compresses audio. Auditory masking is the process that it uses, and it means that when one sound is heard by us, the other is affected by it. So we really do not realize that we have missed any part of anything. Our visual perceptions can be manipulated in the same way.

MP3 players have advanced greatly since first coming on the market. They are extremely compact, and feature a variety of extras if you choose to include them. Some will also read WMA files. You can also purchase them with an additional USB port.

When you are ready to buy an MP3 player, plan for a long term purchase. They are built to play and built to last. If you think you may want to use other options that are available, then go ahead and get them now. If you are someone that just really likes to listen to your MP3 music, then you can get an awesome deal on a player. You can put so many songs on one disc, you will not need any other form of electronic to play your music.

The most fun is getting to buy the player. You get to make a selection for all of the styles, shapes and colors that are available on the market. If you have a favorite color, the chances are that you can probably find it.
