The Secrets To Creating Income Installing Custom Car Speakers

By Craig Ford

For the technically inclined, the ability to create income installing car speakers can be a viable alternative as well as hobby. Should you have the technical expertise and adept hands this business can be quite lucrative. And it does not take that much skill should you already have the knack for taking things apart and putting them back together.

All new cars come with new audio setups and the complexity and quality depends on the car model. Thus more expensive cars will have more expensive audio setups. The cheaper models will have lower end set ups and it is usually these models that require new speaker installations in the future.

The challenge from this type of job and business really comes from customized set ups and jobs. Though it is easy to install new speakers just by attaching to the terminals and such, the real fun and money comes from custom jobs. Customized speaker installation jobs require a bit more know how on the part of the installer as different speakers require different positions and locations within the car to maximize their range quality and output.

Subwoofers or the bass for one should be installed under the back seats. The midrange speakers can be placed in the former speaker brackets. Tweeters or the high range speakers which are usually tiny can be place high up on the speaker panels, on the dashboard or even in the car ceiling.

The placement of these new speakers must also come with a bit of artistry to make it stylish and attractive. To get a basic idea of how this is done, one just has to watch those shows on television where they customize old car sound system set ups alongside the body. Getting the right look and the right sound for the car is very important.

When one ventures in speaker installation, one must also have the knowledge of head unit matches with the customer choice of speakers. Sometime there might be a need to change head units and even purchase a new amplifier system to match the new power output range of the new speakers. Most car owners do not take this into account.

Maximization of speaker output is done with proper head unit matching. Also when the speaker count reaches about five or more, there may be a need for the addition of an amplifier to boost the signal and sound strength. A head unit can only effectively boost one subwoofer and 2 midranges, anything more and you will need an amplifier.
