Party Games For Children’s Birthdays
For small boys and girls, a birthday party would not be complete without having party games. So if you have a tiny tot or if your tiny celebrant is not so little anymore, here are a few games that you ought to check out.
Pre-Schoolers
Musical chairs is a certain must have when throwing a party for pre-schoolers. The concept is simple enough for tiny tots to understand but even parents will find this game loads of fun. Basically, you have to setup chairs in a circle. There has got to be one more player than the number of chairs. Basically, you dance around the chairs in sort of like a mambo line while the music is playing, but once it comes to a stop, you have to aim to beat the others to a chair. Whoever is left standing is out of the game. Each round, remove one chair until there are only two people left fighting over the last seat. The last person sitting is the winner.
Balloon pop is another really good game. Basically, the name says it all. You release a number of balloons on the floor or wide area then allow the tiny tots start sitting on them and popping them. But, if you want this game to be more competitive, you can split the players into teams. Every team will be given an equal amount of balloons to pop, first team to do so is the winner.
5-8 Year Olds
Newspaper dance is another classic game that never fails. Put the kinds into twos and give each pair a newspaper. When the music is playing, the kids have to dance around the newspaper. When the music comes to a stop, both little ones have to stand on the newspaper without any of their feet touching the ground. With every go, the newspaper is folded in half. Any pair that falls or if even just one player’s foot is touching the ground is out. The last pair standing is the winner.
One other game that is done by couples is funny bone. You have to tell the players which bones and body parts they have to connect. For example, you say the finger is connected to the ear. So player A takes his finger and places it one player B’s ear. Sounds simple, but the players have to sustain their poses through the course of the game unless the same body part is used again. Those who fail to do so are out. The last pair left is the winner.
Games For 9-12 Year Olds
Kids always enjoy a good scavenger hunt. This is best for the older crowd, but the younger ones can take part in the game too if it is played in teams. Basically, you have to prepare clues and tasks that lead to other clues and tasks. You will also have to give each team a list of things that they have to collect along the way. First team to complete the check list and give it back to you is the winner.
The longest line is another certain win. This game, also done in teams, is basically about making the longest line- using bodies, clothes, shoelaces, or just about anything the players can find. You can even set the rues on what can be used in the game. Then the whole game is timed. give or take 5-10 minutes ought to be more than enough. When time is up, the team with the longest line is the winner. You will need a big space for this game though.
These games are the ones that will never fail. So check that you have them on your list and make your little one’s big day full of fun and activities.
