Play Piano By Ear For Kids

If you want to play music immediately, try to play piano by ear. Your favorite song can be performed immediately. It is easy because all you require are your brain, ears and fingers. It’s no big problem if you do not have the sheet music of your favorite song. Playing piano by ear will be easy especially if you love piano music. Here are some common sense advice:

If you know how to hum your song, try humming it and play that note on the keyboard. If the tune goes up, look for the keys to your left and if it goes down, look for the keys downwards.

Rhythm helps but you don’t have to be a specialist to do this. Play the chords with the left hand like the tapping pattern you do when listening to the music as your right hand plays the melody.

Three things are necessary in making playing piano by ear possible. Tonal memory is the ability to remember the music that was heard. Then try to reproduce the music on the piano. Lastly, you accompany the melody using melody contouring, chord structure and chord progression. With the first two, even the untrained can do it, but the last factor should be done if he knows the basic music theories.
