The Rocking World Of Paul Reed Smith Guitars
1985 showed the American guitar players the new Paul Reed Smith Guitars and all of their excellent High end craftsmanship. A man named Luther Paul Reed Smith who was also a great guitar player himself founded PRS and famous musicians such as Santana even use them to this day.
A small town in Maryland is were these magnificent works of art are made. The looks of each of these models are unique and they all have the craftsmanship of higher end custom edge designs.
Mostly mahogany is the wood the bodies are made of and the tops on these design models also have exquisite crafted maple wood. These can be customized in edgy and trendy styles to with maple figured to make strips and more.
Other tops can be customized with maple quilt and flame. A special and exotic wood called korina is used on a very small few to craft PRS bodies. The necks on most models are crafted of mahogany.
Models of the PRS which are specialized have rosewood from India and Brazil making up the necks. Most of the fingerboards are crafted from this beautiful wood as well. These guitars have significantly custom fret markers which only PRS use.
PRS fret markers are a design all on their own and exclusive to these guitars. They have detailed birds in different forms on the higher ends and different shapes of mesmerizing crescent moons on the lower ends which are then inlaid with unique ivory, gold or abalone.
The bridges which are added onto theses models consist of either, one piece stop tail pre-intonated, vibrato, wrap over tailpiece and pre-intonated stop tail. Some of your favorite rock guitarists actually have one or more of these crafted beauties.
Accents that add even more dramatic effects in the finishes are done by a process of popping its grain. This special staining gives the look of three dimensions and creates trendy colors and looks. A popular one is the burst translucent.
Paul Reed Smith Guitars also has great looking and sounding Student Edition models or as they are known SE models. These are still extremely good looking but the materials are of a lesser quality and are manufactured in Korea.
