By Jason Hall

The summer months are always a popular time to rent a vehicle as many people are traveling with the family in tow and want to take with them a larger, more reliable vehicle. In an attempt to save wear and tear on their own car, many families opt to rent a mini-van or SUV for their family holiday making this a prime rental time and definitely a more expensive time, as vehicles are in a higher demand.

Around Christmas time vehicles are also more expensive to rent. Most people wish to rent a vehicle for their holiday travel plans, either for the reasons listed above or because they are concerned about the reliability of their everyday vehicle during the colder winter months. Either way this is another time of year when car rental prices are heightened due to an increase in demand.

If you are planning a family holiday one of the best times of year to go and travel is during the month of September, immediately after Labor Day. Of course, Labor Day is still very well traveled but following that many people are back in school and while the weather is still good many are committed to staying home during the first month or so that school is back in session. Even airfare tends to go down during September in an attempt to encourage people to travel more and help keep business afloat.

Taking a holiday during the month of September may be the perfect way to escape and not because most people are preparing for winter and the school does not usually have more openings vacation time from work. The holidays are rarely taken during the month of September.
