The majority of people living in the world are aware that we are facing ever increasing challenges and demands. The world’s demand for energy is constantly on the rise. * Flaring – As they have done in the past, Shell is committed to reducing flaring.

* Spills – The company strives to not only lessen their occurrence but eliminate them altogether.

* Water – Incorporating suitable practices, and working with others, the company is dedicated to protecting the world’s water.

* Sensitive environments – Shell initiates biodiversity action plans with experts in order to safeguard various ecosystems.

It is quite clear that Shell is dedicated to the environment and works alongside environmental organizations in order to support conservation and improve the methods that are employed so as to minimize environmental impact and damage. Working with the International Union for Conservation of Nature, Wetlands International, The Nature Conservancy, and Earthwatch, Shell has maintained an ongoing working relationship for more than thirty different projects, thereby improving the sustainability of biofuels. The company was also part of the team working to conserve wetlands in the Gulf of Mexico, not to mention being involved with multi-industry initiatives to devise a plan that would permit safe development in the Arctic.
