Truck Tires- Servicing And Safety

By Ben Pate

[I:]Safety is an important thing to remember when it comes to tires on a vehicle. And it is exaggerated when it is a heavy load vehicle, like a truck. Inspections of the tires of these heavy load vehicles are extremely important, and the inspections should be on a regular basis. It is important that light truck tires are safe and the safety standards are up to date and accurate.

By conducting routine maintenance on the tires, it will greatly increase the efficiency of performance. It will also increase the life of the tires. To guarantee the safety of the driver and truck, these inspections must be done accurately and done daily. Make sure that nothing has slipped inspection for safety purposes.

The tire pressure for every tire must be correct and accurate according to the operator manual guide. This should be done regularly and with a high quality tire gauge. While the pressure of each tire is being checked, the visual condition of each tire should also be checked as well. The visual inspection should be done daily also.

The weight capacity of the tires should also be checked to make sure that they can sustain the amount of weight that is expected. Determining the proper weight that they can hold will prevent any damage on the tires later. The truck should have an operating manual with the correct weights of tires and should also have the correct pressure as well.

Heat and tires do not mix, so keeping extreme heat away from tires is highly recommended. The heat will cause damage to the tires and will cause them to fail. When fixing a tire rim or anything similar to that, using a welding torch should be done carefully and with caution. Make sure to store tires in a cool spot and out of direct sunlight.

Always make sure to wash car rims on a routine schedule because debris and dirt will stick to tires and cause them to deteriorate faster and cause premature aging. Another important factor to consider is to make sure that the tread pattern of each tire is the same. This will improve the performance of the tire.

Never mix tires on a heavy load vehicle; this will impair the truck ability to run safe and smooth. All tires should be of the same treat, weight, make, size, and proper pressure to improve the safety of the driver. Mixing will only increase the chances of failure to the tires and will cause unsafe conditions while on the road.

You see, truck wheels tires and safety go hand in hand, and to make this possible, routine maintenance and routine inspection is the number one priority in safety. Make sure all tire wheels have the proper pressure, and the tread pattern of each of tire matches.
