Can Office Outfits Be Stylish?

By Jack Wogan

Dressing for work is something more than just putting on clothes, it also means telling something about ourselves and our attitude towards our job. Making the right impression as a professional has pretty much to do with the way in which we choose our outfits for office, and, for most of us, either men or women, a proper dress for office is equivalent to formal wear. It is usually associated with a more serious, rigid look, but there are no reasons why it shouldn’t be stylish too.

The dress code at our work place is the first thing we need to consider when choosing our office outfits. In some companies, the atmosphere may be more relaxed and thus more liberties permitted in terms of office look, whereas others may still insist on a rather ultra-conservative one.

Luckily for us, modern office dresses are less unattractive than they used to be and thus make it easier to find the perfect ones for us. Various styles, colors and patterns are now available and, more important, their designs are meant to fit all types of silhouettes. These clothes are not only fashionable, but also stylish and, by wearing them appropriately they can help us getting a little closer to that successful career we are dreaming about.

In what women are concerned, the skirt set, pant suits and dresses are the three major choices for office outfits. All three of them are hugely popular among women as their imagination helps them constantly create new and interesting appearances by merely using these items in various combinations. The stylish, yet professional and competent look can be complete by adding accessories such as scarves, handbags, watches or jewelry.

Things are not so different for office men wear either. Gentlemen too are now spoiled with fashionable designs which do not lose anything from their characteristic business like style. By just playing around with a mixture of clothing textures and a touch of color, men office wear can instantly become more stylish while still remaining suitable for formal business, general business or business casual contexts.

Yet, a stylish office wear does not involve paying attention only to the clothes we put on, but to some other important aspects as well. The way we wear our outfits is just as important. Having that in mine, try to always remember that wrinkled or improperly fitting items of clothing are far from being stylish. The same thing can be told about jackets which are not completely buttoned, blouses which allow for large spaces between the buttonholes or open-toed sandals or shoes. But there are some little details which can contribute to your professional success and they include polished shoes, discrete jewelry and watches, elegant handbags or right choice of colors for our outfits.

In the end, a stylish look at the office is not all about clothing, but also about our ability and willingness to think beyond our personal style and embrace the one of the place where we work. The market is offering us plenty of variants for all occasions, from jackets to designer suits and t-shirts suitable for office wear, so it couldn’t be easier for us to find that air of professional men or women we are looking for.

Clothing such as jackets for men, designer suits and t-shirts for all occassions are the type of clothing All Saints are offering.
