Having acne prone skin and dry skin not only detracts from someone’s appearance, but it can also significantly damage your self-esteem and yourself image as well. Acne is typically associated with dirty and oily skin, but dry skin can also lead to this problem. In order to treat acne, there are a number of things that you should be doing.

Make sure that you are always using a daily face cleanser that is specifically designed in order to treat dry and oily skin. There are all sorts of daily cleansers that are specifically designed in order to treat acne, and so you should look for those that are highly rated on the market.

It is important that you wash your skin no more than two times a day, unless there is excess oil or sweat present on your face. If you have dry skin then it is likely to be very sensitive and washing it frequently can actually aggravate acne and cause it to get worse, and certainly not better.

If the a within your home is fairly dry then purchase a vaporiser that will help to moisturise the air within your house. Dry air within the home can often lead to very dry skin which is a significant cause of the development of acne. Make sure that your house is fully moisturised and this may help to clear up the problem.

Drink as much water as you can every day. It is absolutely crucial that everyone gets there daily quota of water of eight glasses, but if you have serious acne you may want to drink even more than this. Water is crucial for a host of bodily functions and it is also very important at helping to keep your skin moisturised.

You should also schedule an appointment to go to see a dermatologist. Depending upon the amount of acne that you have, its severity, and the specific type that you have, certain creams and other lotions may not have the desired effect for you. As such, it may be a good idea to go to see a professional dermatologist who will be able to offer you different treatments and two will be able to recommend certain over-the-counter products that should help you out.
