Using A Moist Towelette Reduces Viruses

By Nita McKinney

Keeping hands clean in public places was once a challenge as finding soap and napkins could be a job by itself. If a person paid for a product or service, sometimes there is limited supply to give customers. This is why it is a good ideal for a person to have a moist towelette on their person before they leave the house.

Having a clean body does not stop at daily bathing as many come in contact with all sorts of surfaces and situations that may compromise their well being. For instance, many are encouraged to take public transportation like trains, buses, and subways. However, this is one place where anyone is likely to come in physical contact with a mystery substance that may or may not be visible to the human eye.

Protecting families entirely from germs is not realistic but there are ways that it can be reduced, such as always having hand sanitizer in various parts of the home. Many keep a bottle or two at home or the office for good measure. The thing is that keeping a large bottle on hand is not realistic for some people, such as those who are constantly on the move.

Those large bottles are not practical for keeping in most purses and messenger bags. While there are some designed for this purpose, sometimes its contents will leak and can ruin paper documents. While there are some ultra compact models that may be designed as a small aerosol pump or key ring, these do not last very long and need to be replaced almost immediately.

Towelettes are great because they are sealed off to prevents leaks and have a long shelf life. They are sold in a canister or individually for sale at most major supermarkets or drug stores. The prices are reasonable, there are a numbers of scents, and strengths to choose from, including those that are unscented.

When out in a casual environment such as an open air market, camping trip, or other place where hygiene products may be sparse, this is a great way to protect hands from attracting foreign objects. Everyone has had a moment when they ate a food product that was sweet or sticky once it dried. Using napkins may not be enough but having moist towels inside a purse or glove compartment can save from further embarrassment.

This is also a good habit to pass along to the younger generation. There may come a time or two when washing the hands may not be enough or they may need to protect themselves from their classmates. For instance, those who come to school with a cold, flu, or respiratory virus and likely to contaminate others with their germs.

Getting towelettes in the home is not hard and people should not feel the need to stock up from their favorite restaurant. Not only are they portable but inexpensive with a nice scent. Along with a good hand sanitizer, a moist towelette can help to protect all from cross contamination and provide some peace of mind.
