Building a List Database For Your MLM Business
If you have tried network marketing then you have heard about the importance of building your own leads list. So, exactly how important is this?
First off, let me define a list. A list is a group of people, who as individuals, have opted in to a form on one of your capture pages. These people then become leads for your business and therefore your list is a leads list.
A list of customers or potential prospects is very important no matter what type of business it is. My mother used to own a traditional store-front dress shop. She had created a form for her customers to fill out when they made purchases. She would then notify them of sales and events. This was her list. Many traditional business have lists that were created this way.
As a network marketer, you most likely do not have a storefront business. Therefore, its very important to make sure we have an on-line storefront with a form for our prospects to fill out so we can add them to our own leads list.
Now, you do not need to have merchandise for sale on your storefront site. You should, however, have something that attracts your reader and makes them want to give you their personal information. Usually this is something of value that you give to your prospect for free in exchange for their personal contact information. There are systems available that will provide you with capture pages that you can link to your auto-repsonder program.
Once you have a capture page that is working, you are ready to start building your list! So what should you do with this list? You can send your prospects updates about your business. You can send them helpful tips in building their own business. There are a lot of possibilities. Keep in mind that you should stick to sending out only 1-2 emails per week. If you send them too often your prospects will opt-out of your list.
You should always send out information that will benefit your prospect in some way. If you want to use your list to prospect, remember that if you sound like a sales person, your prospects will opt out of your list. Limit your prospecting to one time per week. The second email broadcast you send should be a tip to help them in their business.
