Top 5 Email Marketing Tips for Mobile

By Samantha Lee

Over the past years, there has been massive change with the way people communicate. Letters have been sent and written less per year and calls have been done less often with telephones. These traditional means of communication have been replaced, though not completely with email and mobile phones, two of the most powerful mode of communication.

Of all the internet marketing strategies available for web entrepreneurs these days, it is perhaps email marketing that’s considered to be one of the most popular. Since the day it was established, it has gained a number of loyal followers. This is no longer a surprise as through the years, this marketing strategy has proven itself to be effective aside from being cost-efficient.

Email marketers these days should then take into consideration the growing changes in the way people accessed to information. Aside from computer, one of the most popular tool by which people view information from the internet is through the mobile phone.

The following are some of the things that a web entrepreneur/marketer should do to make his email marketing campaign among mobile phone users effective:

1. Short subject lines

Because of the limited screen display of mobile phones, web entrepreneurs/marketers should consider keeping their subject lines as short as possible. The subject line must be relevant to the content yet interesting and short at the same time.

2. Make your copy short but direct to the point

Not only should you make your subject line short but also your text copy. Go directly to your point. Avoid placing unnecessary information as this will only frustrate your readers especially when they still have to scroll down just to understand your idea.

3. Opt for text over multimedia-rich content

Html may be nice to look at but a text copy would be so much better especially among mobile phone users. There are email marketing software though that are capable of sending both.

4. Check for broken links

Whether or not you are thinking of mobile phone users when launching a campaign, you should always make sure that your links embedded in your message work. Broken links will only disappoint clients and may even prompt them to opt-out from your mailing list.

5. Check your email’s overall size

Before hitting the ‘send’ button, make sure you have considered the overall email size. Ask yourself if reading your email won’t be posing any problem among your clientele who are mostly checking their emails through their mobile phones.
