A Couple Points On How To Get Started With Article Marketing Online For Beginners

By Jeramy Colvin

Online article writing is ever increasing in popularity. There are many things to learn to reach any level of success on the internet and this article will provide some tips for a newbie of how to get started with article marketing. First and foremost though, it is important to do a personal assessment of topics that one will enjoy writing about for the long term.

The topics which will have a long life on search engines are called “ever green” topics. These areas are known to be continuously searched for with continuous new information to provide. Some examples are: travel, health, auto, relationships, etc. Choosing a selected area is known as choosing ones “niche.”

Having established a niche and some content produced, one can begin the next process, which is known as “branding.” A genuine and honest approach is an important element to a solid reputation. The online community is quite savvy, so if someone is not honest their level of success will be limited to short lived. As a reputation builds, this invites the next phase of “building lists.”

The type of platform a writer chooses for publishing articles will be the deciding factor of what type of lists they will be able to establish. Choices of platforms vary from being a member of a writing site for publications or having their own website. Becoming a member of writing platform communities may offer extra benefits of revenue sharing, learning from other writers, and having the support of a community.

Websites and blogs are very popular and even though they take a fair amount of hard work to establish a solid reputation, the long term rewards once that is accomplished can be far greater than a writing site alone. Having a website allows the opportunity to create lists that include all subscriber email addresses so that direct communication can be established. This type of list is known to be the best type to acquire.

For a beginner, the process of establishing oneself can be rather daunting. It is quite common for new writers to join a writing site for experience and the amount of support at a good site is priceless. This can be a good option to begin with while building a blog and/or website at the same time. It will create a heavy load to produce content for both consistently, though the measure of education can truly help one advance with greater ease.

The types of lists generated from a writing site are typically more limited than on a personal website/blog. They are often other writers from the site which follow other writers’ work they like. Or the option of subscribing to a writers account. These types of lists do not offer a writer any information on the subscribers. They are basic style RSS feed subscriptions.

Yet, to create a solid list of outside traffic, one must go the extra mile to social networks and social bookmarking sites and link their articles in as many communities as possible. Then, the following is just for website users. They can create a “Squeeze page” on their site. It will be located in a sidebar where visitors can subscribe to the list. Or an “Opt box” can be added where people can subscribe and their email address will be added to the list. Having lists that include email addresses is by far the most valuable type of list there is. This way the option is open to directly connect with information. How to get started with article marketing online is work, yet when properly planned, every amount of effort is a big step to creating a solid future.
