Energy-Saving Roller Blinds
By Kate Tomas
Bare window glasses often lack efficient ventilation. No wonder building occupants rush to cover their bare window panels during summer, when the weather becomes hotter. They usually do so by utilizing window shading products. One very important reason is they want to keep the hot rays of the sun from passing through the glass panels and making the temperature inside the office unbearably hot.
Another important reason why people choose to cover their glass windows is that they want to keep safe from the harmful effects of ultraviolet rays. Constant exposure to solar UV rays causes skin diseases in humans and premature discoloration in furniture.
Building occupants often resolve this by putting additional ventilation equipment like air-conditioner. But there is a more practical and ecologically sound way to deal with this problem. Building manufacturers nowadays constantly improve the designs of their traditional window shading products, particularly roller blinds, for better performance.
As a result, people can now have UV filtering and energy reflective roller blinds for their glass windows. UV filtering and energy reflective roller blinds help control the amount of energy that enters and exits the room and vice versa. In addition, today’s window blinds are coated with metal and yet transparent films, which allow people to control the amount of heat that enters into the room and at the same time enjoy the outside view.
Window blinds come in two types: the vertical and the horizontal blinds. The the edge of using this type of window treatment from other window shading products is that they are adjustable. When there is not much heat coming through, building occupants can adjust it to accommodate a bit of sunshine. Building occupants can also adjust the blinds so that they can see the the view from the outside. Moreover, people may choose manual or electrically powered operating systems.
Window blinds help people save energy through their reflective and metal coated films. Moreover, blinds control the heat inside the room even without spending on additional electrically-powered equipment such as air-conditioners or electric fans. Companies indeed are able to lessen their electricity use and create a more conducive work environment with efficient window blinds.
