2. Provide details about the business in the advertisement instead of being vague. Buyers want specifics that are easy to analyze without too many distractions. 3. Make the advertisement attractive and concise so buyers will have a reason to choose you over someone else, because there are a lot of people selling businesses on line.

4. Stay anonymous. Don’t give the company name, number or any other specific company information. It can cause a huge problem if your competitors find out you are selling, not too mention the confusion your employees and customers will feel.

5. Explain in simple detail the reasons the business is being sold. Giving explanations upfront will ease concerns buyers may have as they investigate what you are offering.

6. Be timely in responding to inquiries from buyers. The more you make them wait, the more likely they will move on to another business for sale.

7. Offer an asking price right off the bat. This will weed out buyers and leave you with potential candidates who already know what you are looking to sell the business for. This saves a lot of time from pursuing tons of dead ends.
