In Search Of Awesome San Jose Events

By Eddie Howard

It may be surprising, but despite what you might have heard, the Bay Area knows how to party. Sure, there are a lot of intense people around here, but that doesn’t mean they don’t know how to kick back and have a little fun. Sure, we’re an intense breed out here, but if the hippie generation taught us anything, it’s how to shift into neutral and go with the proverbial flow.

If you’re looking to kick it in the much-neglected South Bay, then you’re going to want to get hip to all the latest and greatest San Jose events on the calendar. This means you need to get your RSS feeds pointing in the right direction. So, call up your posse and make sure they’re all on the same page.

Do you know what’s your pleasure? Dancing? Dinner? Both? How about catching a new art-house flick? If you’re in San Jose, no worries. You can do it all, and usually all in one night. Just pace yourself and make sure your special someone or gaggle of friends can cut it. There’s nothing worse than trying to get into the groove and having someone bail on you.

A word to the wise: don’t carpool. You might think its a great idea at the start of the night, but when people start bailing, you don’t want to get left alone in the cold, trying to hail a cab at 3 AM. No, agree to meet somewhere and take it from there. You’ll thank me later.

One last thing: don’t get sucked in the time and money vortex that is San Francisco. I know it’s hip out there and everyone is dying to party, but you’ll end up paying two or three times as much as you will in San Jose. It’s just not worth it. Stay local and stay frosty.

Keeping up with San Jose events can be tiresome. So, put your RSS feed to work, book a room at the Sainte Claire, and get to it!
