Sony on Wednesday announced the appointment that Kazuo Hirai is the president and CEO of Sony, the former president and CEO Howard Stringer will serve as Chairman of the Board. They will work together to improve the achievements of the company, the prospect and development of Sony that takes benefits from the new mind and measurement.

Sony said in a statement, Kazuo Hirai will assume office on 1 April this year, and Stringer will be at his position after the company’s annual shareholders meeting in June this year, that is the official Chairman of the Board. Hirai, 51, previously, he has abundant experience on music and games industry. So he has the ability to be the president and CEO of the Sony.

In the upgrade, the company president and CEO will test his ability to perform Stringer Sony TV and the computer business and entertainment services to integrate the content of the vision.

In the 1980s, after the Walkman portable players dominate the market, Sony is in the portable player market, it exceed the Apple iPod, the TV market. Samsung Electronics is the super one, and Sony electronics are better, in the video game market. Sony’s quality is better than the other company, so it will lead the electronics marketing in the future.

Since 2005, Stringer became Sony’s chief executive office. Sony’s stock declining has been more than 50%. And even worse is, this fiscal year results for the fourth consecutive year lost their shares. Sony shares in Tokyo Stock Exchange on Wednesday, it fell 1.9 percent and to close at 1,364.

Kazuo Hirai, was born in Tokyo on December 22 in 1960. In 1984, he graduated from the Tokyo International Christian University, and received a bachelor. After graduation, he joined Sony and CBS was established in Tokyo. The company later became Sony Music Entertainment, which is Sony’s main music department. Kazuo Hirai in 1995 to Sony Computer Entertainment in America, and in 1999 he became the president of this company. In 2006, Hirai was promoted the president of Sony Computer Entertainment.
