With most network marketers and home business owners now talking with business partners all over the world, knowing how to establish and exhibit your leadership is crucial.

How do you show leadership in order to create this successful home based business in network marketing?

1. Know your stuff.
You must endeavour to learn and master as much as possible about your business and industry. Your team and new prospects will come to you with questions and you must demonstrate that you either know the answer or know where to get it. This doesn’t mean you need to know everything, but showing initiative and problem-solving skills will show that you have the leadership abilities to run a successful home based business and lead others to do the same.

2. Be proactive in sharing what you know and have.
As a leader, if you have found the secrets to building a successful home based business, your role is to share them with your partners so that they can replicate your success. Their success will actually validate and reinforce your leadership: they followed your advice, experienced success, and are now confident in your ability to lead them to victory!

3. Be available for your partners.
Leadership is no selfish business. To contribute to your network or industry while exhibiting your skills and knowledge, you must create valuable content and make it widely available online. This is also useful when a new prospect wants to find out who you are before signing up with you; with a valuable and wide presence online, you can trust that they will find someone exhibiting leadership and expertise, someone they can trust in helping them start a successful home based business for themselves.

5. Find a niche for your success and leadership.
Needless to say, having success helps in being a leader. It doesn’t mean however that you must be the best at everything and overall and have the most successful home based business in your company. Find the areas in which you are particularly confident and thriving, and focus your leadership on those. Start straight away; with time, your leadership portfolio will expand, but don’t wait before you start taking on at least one area, however small it may be.

6. Have a leader attitude.
People will not follow someone who is lazy or gives up easily. A leader is someone with enthusiasm, passion, a can-do attitude, a collaborative approach, problem-solving skills, tenacity, focus and perseverance. Can’t recognise yourself here? Well fake it till you make it, because the more you act like a leader, the more you feel like a leader. Having those attitudes will not only help you become a leader, they will also be your pillars for building a successful home based business.
