The people who are already on your list are great for bringing in new subscribers. Word of mouth is one of the most powerful marketing tactics so you need to encourage your list subscribers to encourage others to check you out. Give them the means to email their friends or colleagues and make it easy for them. You can create a simple “refer a friend” form on your website and give your subscribers the link to it. In addition to those things, make sure your work is top-notch so that your subscribers will send it along simply because they enjoy it. All of these methods can give you results that you will want to see.

Here’s an important tip that can actually boost your subscriber rate: Always publish a privacy policy on your website and give a link to it right below your opt-in box. The reason you do this is to cut down on the fears people have about having their information sent out to or sold to spammers. New subscribers don’t want to have to worry about being inundated with spam mails. Having a visible privacy policy that is easy to find and read will make your prospective subscribers feel a lot safer about sharing their e-mail addresses with you. You want to make sure that you add text about respecting the privacy of your subscribers and that you will not be selling, renting or sharing their information with anybody else. Taking this small step will go a long way toward helping you build your e-mail list.

Here is a hing that other list builders will not share with you: use your blog to help your list building efforts. Blogs provide a great way to communicate with potential customers as well as with subscribers to your list. It works together with e-mail marketing to create a great communications platform.
