Make Your Own Company Or Event Professional Flyer Design

By Dixie Hensley

If you own a business or if you have an event coming up with your organization or church, you probably want a fast, easy and simple way to do so local advertising. One way to do that is to create fliers that will grab the attention of those you want to invite. You can make your own professional flyer design with any graphics program and use some of the tips below which will help make the project a lot easier.

One of the first things you should do is create a title that is going to catch the attention of those you want to come to your event or buy your product. The title should be interesting and even unusual. There should be at least one powerful word in it to catch their attention. For example strong words such as How to, Discover How, Unlock the, Finally, and many more words similar to that will catch the attention of the public.

Your graphics really need to be colorful. Something drab and dull is definitely going to go unnoticed. You also should make sure that you try and stick with one large image rather than having several images. One image has more power to pop out at a person than several small ones. It is important that the image also incorporates the whole message of the flyer.

You should also focus on the benefits that people will receive if they should come to your event or buy your product or service. People always want to know what is in it for them. So make sure that the flyer lets them know what they can expect. Make sure however that what you write is short but to the point and gets your message across clearly.

It is a good idea to organize the flyer with borders or boxes that are of contrasting colors that will draw the person to the flyer. The human eye is attracted to a variety of colors especially when they are in contrast. This then will get the person more interested in reading the flyer if it immediately catches the attention of their eyes.

If there are certain text areas you want to stand out more than others it is always a better idea to make those areas in bold rather than making them all caps. It is true that you want to catch the attention of people but; at the same time you do not want to make it look like you are yelling at them.

Never make your flyer too complicated. Only use two different fonts at the most for your text and always make sure that your layout will fit within the print area you have specified. It is suggested that margins be set at one half inch on all sides of the paper giving it a uniform appearance and allowing you the most room for your layout.

Once you are satisfied with what you have come up with it is vitally important to make sure that you carefully proofread your flyer. Never print anything out prior to proofreading. The ultimate killer for the success of a flyer is both bad grammar and poor spelling.
