MLM Lead- Closing The Deal Is The Hardest Part Of The Puzzle

By Eric McMillan

The real truth about generating and closing an MLM lead is that you should keep in mind you’re talking about people and not a list of emails or numbers. Same as other businesses, you need trust. You’re selling a product that the customer needs.

The point here is that the best MLM leads are those where the prospect urgently needs your product and so is primed and ready to hear your pitch. So where do you find an MLM lead like this, and how does it work? Well, there’s two ways.

Fast and easy way to get hold of a large number of MLM email leads is to use a lead generation service. Do a trial run with a sample batch. Make sure you mention you’ll be verifying how fresh each MLM email lead is.

You might also want to find out if your leads have been oversold. As in whether you’re competing with four or five others trying to sell to the prospect. You just need to make sure you’ll be getting enough conversions to keep you in business.

The second way is to earn the leads. Start a site or blog which you can use to sell your products. Offer some advice and setup an opt-in email list which you can then use as a feeder for your lead list.

You can promote the opt-in email list through social media to your friends and connections on twitter, facebook, youtube and other networks. If possible, also throw in a free e-book to attract signups. The e-book will also help you in your sales pitch, since the prospect will already be aware of all the details and benefits of the product and the downline.

This is very important because you can’t start boasting about how wonderful the product is. Neither can you start off with how much money there is in it. Way you do it is to find out first whether or not the lead is actively looking for a product like yours.

Then check whether he or she is ready to buy or just collecting information. Two or three questions will clear out all the dead-enders and leave you with a solid list of ready-to-convert prospects. Once you’re at this stage, make your pitch. Sell the product and sweeten it with the pot of gold in the downline.

Why a lot of MLM marketers fail is because they have this routine upside down. They try to sell the money-making opportunity first, and the product is just an afterthought. You take the trouble to find the right MLM lead and convince the prospect that your product fits the bill, and the rest of it will fall into place. The lead will use the product, and if it works, all of the prospect’s network will start buying into it.
