Mingle Stick What is It?
By Jeff Grundy
The days of passing out business cards at a networking event, such as a chamber of commerce luncheon or a business convention are about to end. After all, who wants to return to the office, pull open that lower desk drawer, and add piles of business cards to the already existing mountain of card stock already taking up space in there?
Stop wasting your time searching for a special card. It almost seems like your are searching for a needle in a hay stack. At least with a stack of hay you could burn it. Burn all your business cards and well….
The future is now with a electronic business card. Face to face contact is still the method of choice for networking, yet imagine being able to transfer all your information and receive all the person you are networking with in an instant. And having it stored electronically.
This miracle device is called the MingleStick. With just a click of a button, this key chain sized device, does all the work for you. You will quickly fall in love with it.
So there you have it. You just returned from a seminar with 200 attendees. Instead of having a shoe box full of business cards you will never use, you now use your USB connection and you have an instant data base of all the other people who attended the event.
The address book is maintained online, where management and organization of your contacts takes place. If you use Outlook or similar deskstop contact software, the MingleStick information can easily be exported into VCards and a CSV file.
MingleSticks will quickly become standard issue in convention welcome packages. No need to interrupt someone’s conversation to ask for a business card. Just point your MingleStick and they can quickly return the favor with out skipping a beat in their conversation.
Be prepared to be at the begging of a tidal wave. Your first few function you may be the only one there with a MingleStick, yet think of the attention you will get.
Don’t let the simplicity of use deceive you. The amount of information it stores is awesome. From basic info to many different social networking sites.
The ideas are endless. It is great for speakers who want the information of all the attendees without having to talk with each one. They could leave their stick at the registration desk and just pick it up after everyone has transferred their information with it.
The applications for the MingleStick seem straight forward at first, yet with a little thoughtfulness the possibilities are almost endless. For some new ideas please click on MingleStick Ideas
