Designer Image: What PR Representative To Hire

Being a designer is not as easy as everyone thinks. The designer alone cannot do all the things required by the industry. For the designer to do her job of setting trends, he or she must know how to trust other professionals to do other tasks for him or her.

One of these professionals that a designer needs is a fashion PR who is in charge of helping the designer introduce, and maintain the name of the designer’s brand. This type of public relations representative also helps in marketing new pieces that the designer wants to introduce to the public. This type of fashion public relations representative are equipped with research and surveying skills to gather data on public perception. In cases where there are damaging issues about the brand’s image towards the public, it is the public relations representative’s task to design a plan to clean up the bad reputation. Most of the time, the task of a fashion PR is to prevent these negative feedbacks from happening.

The other type of public relations representative that a designer needs is the lifestyle PR. They are the ones dedicated in controlling the image of the fashion designer in the eye of the public. Fashion designers are not exempted from public scrutiny. Their image is greatly dependent on how other people view how they live and what they do regularly.

It can be very difficult for a designer to track every one of his or her public moves. He or she must hire a lifestyle public relations representative to do this for him or her. It is their task to make sure that the lifestyle aspect of a designer’s image will not taint the brand that he or she is representing.

Among the tasks of these representatives, the most important is arranging and editing press releases when problems concerning the image arise. In these times, they facilitate the processes of keeping the brand name and image favorable foe the target market. They also maintain the image of a designer brand by sponsoring positive articles and news about the brand and they do all these observing the company’s budget for promotions.
