Usage over a period of time causes the sheen of the car to get spoiled due to stains, making it look unattractive, especially if the original layer of paint is losing its colour. A complete routine for taking care of your car that includes car wash and waxing, along with car polishing can make the vehicle appear as good as new.

The first and foremost thing is cleaning your car by properly washing it with a good shampoo, and water, followed by application of either a layer of wax or polish. There is often some confusion among vehicle owners as to when car polishing and car waxing must be done. Being the owner of the car, it is necessary for you to have an idea of the type of care your car needs.

Car wax is contains carnauba and other wax ingredients, which make the car gleam and sparkle. However, car waxes lack abrasive agents and so they cannot remove the more prominent stains. In addition, they are not resistant to harsh sunlight.

Whereas car polishes contain a unique substance called Teflon, which makes them last longer on your car and provides it a brand new look. Scratches and stains on the car’s body are also more effectively hidden with polish.

When you are polishing the blend edges, be sure to work away from the edge and never directly into it. The most recommended process for a blend edge is to hand glaze rather than machine polish. When you have to hand glaze, always a cloth that is soft and be sure it is clean for both the application and when taking the glaze off.

Generally, car polish is the best remedy in case you drive your car regularly on roads that are dusty. Car wax provides your car with a short-term gloss for certain events, but it is not a very good protection on a daily basis. Therefore, you have to figure out the requirements of your car keeping in mind its make and your lifestyle, and then adopt a makeover that not only gives your car a brand new appearance but also makes it suitable for long term usage.
