Basic Skincare Remedies
Skin tone isn’t all about being fair – if you have dry, dull skin, you won’t look particularly good. On the other hand, if your skin is clear and vibrant, you will always look radiant no matter what your skin tone is. A great way to improve your skin tone is therefore to incorporate a bunch of varied measures, including the right moisturizer, diet, exercise, and some direct skincare remedies.
As far as your diet goes, it is pretty simple – make sure that you eat plenty of fruits and vegetables. There is no specific food that is going to improve your skin – Vitamin A, Vitamin B, and Vitamin C are all very vital for the skin, and can be obtained only by consuming a wide variety of fruits and vegetables. Exercise is just as important to keep your body and skin in great health. You should incorporate at least half an hour of strenuous activity of some sort into your everyday schedule. If you’re strapped for time or have some other constraints, you can simply walk briskly for half an hour every day.
Sun protection is a vital part of keeping your skin healthy and fresh. Excessive exposure to sunlight can have dangerous results besides of course tanning your skin and darkening it. Wearing sun screen when you go outdoors in daylight is one smart way to deal with this problem, but today this isn’t considered adequate protection. It is better to actually cover yourself by wearing a hat and clothing that physically covers as much skin area as is possible. In addition, it is a good practice to completely avoid going outdoors during peak sunlight hours, in the afternoon.
There are numerous home remedies that you can try in order to soften and freshen your skin. Prepare a paste of sandalwood powder and honey every morning, and apply it to your face for at least half an hour.
After that, you can softly wipe your face with a piece of cotton soaked in rose water. You can also use a mixture of turmeric powder, sandalwood powder and milk in the same way. Avoid using soap to wash your face regularly – whenever possible, use plain water. Regularly applying aloe gel is also wonderful for the skin – if you have an aloe plant and can use fresh aloe gel, this is the best.
