TRUenergy: Making Great Leaps for the Environment

By Nia Lawrence

In 1995, a power utility company was formed named TRUenergy and is based in Melbourne, Australia. With 1.25 million customers and counting, it is one of the largest green energy providers in the continent. It renders services that mostly come from natural gas, solar, wind, hydro and other forms of harnessed renewable energy. This company might offer less affordable rates compared to its competitors in the market, but it produces green energy which makes it unique in the power production competition.

Green energy is a fast growing trend in the power production industry. People are now starting to switch to green energy because of environmental issues and concerns. One concern is about the production of greenhouse gases that contribute a lot to climate change. And we all know that global warming and climate change has been causing a lot of havoc and phenomena lately. Below are some of the key points you should know when you need to switch to green energy powered by TRUenergy.

Since the production of green energy entails lesser work force, it costs lower compared to the fossil fuel power. It only requires few people to manage the production and everything is almost automated. It is just like wind power production where energy are captured from TRUenergy NSW wind farms and transmitted to its substations, employing only one or two personnel for monitoring.

In addition, the company’s solar parks are one of the largest in the continent. The company actually invested $292 million on Melbourne-based solar parks. The said solar park project will be the world’s most efficient concentrated solar power station. In correlation with that, the construction of Photovoltaic solar park that will generate 180 megawatts of power had already begun last May 2011. They also invested $350 million to fully maximize natural gas production in Wollongong, New South Wales. They also contributed $57 million to Petratherm for the development of geothermal power plants. These are just some of the projects included in the company’s clean energy portfolio.

It is estimated that in 2050, the company’s operation will be 60% clean energy. They are already beginning to minimize investments on fossil fuel power generation. The investments they currently made are big leaps toward a cleaner environment in the future. It is estimated that the total amount they invested for clean energy is almost one billion dollars. If you are looking for green energy, TRUenergy is one of the Australian companies worth considering.

Need a cleaner way of consuming energy? Better switch to green energy and contribute efforts in saving the environment. Truenergy is one of Australia’s largest producers of green energy targeting a 60% green energy production by 2050.
