Avoiding The Spam Folder When Email Marketing

By Aya Wilkinson_

Email marketing is a very important part to advertise your website and keep anyone that has ever been interested in it informed. The internet is the main source for information today and almost everyone pretty much lives on the internet. Shopping, news, reservations, fun and business is all done online, and if you don’t incorporate that into your advertisement you are missing out. It all starts with a website with proper web design to attract searchers. From there you will need to keep these searchers attracted and interested with the content and the web design until they sign up to receive further information and continuous updates. This is where your email marketing will come into play.

Email marketing and regular snail mail marketing is basically the same thing, regularly sending out information, updates, and promotions in hopes that with familiarity the reader will become a customer if they aren’t already. The difference is, however, that unlike regular mail marketing, which in most cases we are not interested in receiving, email marketing emails are received because the reader has signed up to receive it.

When they visit your website they sign up to receive future emails from you. One way you can guarantee that the owner of the email is who really signed up is to have an auto confirmation sent to them when they sign up. When they open their email they will get the email and will need to click on a link within the email itself to actually confirm that they are interested in receiving your future emails. This guarantees that they really are interested and someone didn’t just plug in their email.

No one likes wasting their time, and this helps avoid just that. You will make sure that they are actually interested in what you send them, plus your email doesn’t end up marked as spam. Once you are marked as spam it’s close to impossible to get off that list. Make sure that the auto response confirmation is sent out immediately after they sing up as well, as many people usually have their emails opened while they surf the internet. This way you guarantee that they will confirm back, as your website is still fresh in their minds. By doing this little extra step you make sure that everyone that you send your email to actually expects it and reads it.

If you are the owner of a company and want to increase your customer base as well as stay on top of the changes in the world today, you will need to create an attractive web site that will be interesting to anyone that visits. This is the first step. Then you will need to put email marketing into consideration and make sure that you are ready for the changes and the increase in business. It’s the best form of advertisement, which is what makes it so popular.
