How Web Prices Are Determined

By Wayne Williams

Several factors have to be considered when trying to gauge website prices. That is why there is no standard rule that has been put forth for the calculation of a website’s price. Nonetheless, different features can be used to settle on the cost of a website.

Website prices may depend on the type of the website. A single page business card type website for instance does not require a lot of work. Basically, it comprises important information like contact details, description of the company plus the email link. In this case, the price will be relatively low.

Website prices can also escalate particularly for sites consisting of approximately four or five pages. This is due to the fact that they are likely to entail a lot of work. The information incorporated is also more than what is contained in the single page websites. Apart from that such websites require the integration of images plus graphics which will raise the price.

Other complex websites may also cost a lot. Such websites include eCommerce sites that contain shopping carts. Such websites also contain an admin area and the work involved may be quite complex. For that reason the website prices for such sites are often high.

Other factors that contribute to the price of a website also include the amount of copy typing to be done on the site. You should therefore note that you are likely to incur fewer costs when you give out your copy in electronic format as opposed to when the web designer has to transcribe it from paper documents.

In addition, it is important to remain certain about what you want done on your website and provide clear instructions. This is because failure to do so may compel a revision. Note that, the designers will charge even for work that you ask them to do again and this may raise your costs.

Graphic design is yet another vital factor used to determine website prices. This is because it requires a little more work to accomplish good results. Note that the more graphic work you require for your website, the higher the prices you may have to pay.

Therefore, it is important to always remember the aforementioned factors when thinking about the budget for your website. Always note that the price you pay should relate to the quality of the website.
