Why RV Satellite Internet Is The Best Choice For The RVing Lifestyle

By Carl Langlois

There is a lot to like about living the RV lifestyle. And whether you do it full time or just for family vacations, you know one of the best parts is that you get to bring the comforts of home along with you. The best part can now include surfing the net. You can do it with RV satellite internet.

Today more than ever before, people are enjoying the RVing lifestyle. It’s not just retirees who are hitting the road for extended periods of time. A growing number of people are even combining an online business with travel. It wouldn’t be possible without RV satellite internet. With internet via satellite, you can be connected virtually anytime and anyplace.

If your motorhome or trailer is new, chances are that it may come with a satellite internet service already installed. If you are looking to purchase a new unit you might want to negotiate to have this included. Even if your RV is older you will still be able to get satellite internet.

There are two types of systems. One is a system that is already installed in the RV. The other is a manual system that will be portable. Either will provide you with the same quality of high speed internet. The only real difference is in how they are deployed for use.

The pre installed unit is completely automatic, so is much more convenient to use. When you stop for the night, the simple click of your mouse or push of a button gets your system up and running. It’s usually mounted on the RV’s roof and when it is deployed will automatically align itself to receive the optimum signal.

Because the portable units are manual, that means you have to set them up and align them each time you get to a new location. It shouldn’t take more than ten or fifteen minutes to do once you get used to it. What you have to do is place the tripod in a spot where there are no obstructions, as you need a clear view of the southern sky. After that’s done, align it to get a good signal from the closest satellite.

It’s not as difficult as it may sound to do all that. In some ways this may be better than having a pre installed unit. If you are camping in a tree filled area, moving the tripod to an open area will be easier than moving your entire RV.

Of course the downside is that each time you move on you will have to store the unit and then set it up at your next destination. You probably won’t take the time to do this if you stop for lunch, but when setting up your internet access becomes just another part of your routine when you stop for the night, it’s not so bad.

Just consider the possibilities. You can take that cross country family summer vacation and still run your business. Everyone in the family can stay in touch with friends. Share those great scenic photos with people back home. It all becomes do-able with an RV satellite internet service.

If you like to travel but miss surfing the net RV satellite internet might be for you. Visit satellite internet reviews to find out more about mobile satellite internet.
