If you are erasing old data from DVD, you would need to erase an entire footage. 8mm film lets you overwrite a certain scene and will not ask you to remove an entire footage.

Even though 8mm camcorders are slowly disappearing, they still offer so much video recording capability without breaking the bank. On top of that, these cameras require very little maintenance.
