By Patrice McCoy

Science fiction is a category of stories which entails coming up with findings with regards to technological innovation. It brings together current and past circumstances from to come up with a whole new idea, which though partly overstated contains some factors based on facts. Sci fi games depend on this idea hence developing an exclusive world where gamers can contend using a personality that they can control.

From the parent’s viewpoint, the gaming events are commendable, as they are a realistic ways to encourage their children to remain indoors. In addition the children can spend time and take part in competitions with their friends at the pleasure of where they stay. This is facilitated by the fact that the game has a multiplayer online interface. This would beneficial given the criminal levels in most areas in the west where the parents are consistently away from their children due to work obligations.

These contests introduce the mind of the child to the globe of technological innovation and increase their innovative and innovative potential. These sports may have functions that integrate the use of a given exclusive technical system which leads to fascination in a child to actually learn how that system performs in the real world. A kid who is more technologically- savvy is better equipped to deal with the difficulties of the progressively technologically-inclined world.

However the demerits of the gaming competitions far outweigh the merits. These are because majority of the video competitions involve war and fighting techniques. The players have to fight off their opponents in order to proceed to become the next level. The hero is the person who kills the most competitors in the pursuit of victory . In the process the game inscribes a culture of violence in the competitor’s subconscious mind. According to research, children who play these violent gaming competitions are seen to be more aggressive than children who do not engage in the activity.

Sci-fi games have also been shown to impact the mind, particularly with regards to issues that require them to pay attention, focus, restrain themselves or give an emotional response. Kids who often time spend extended hours enjoying these gaming controls have a lower reaction to psychological issues and their focus on things that are less imaginary is questionable.

Dr. Paul Grasby of Hammersmith Hospital, London states that sci fi games are chemically addictive. The level of dopamine, the hormone that is linked to pleasure, is observed to be two times higher than the level of dopamine in non players. This goes to explain the addiction to the game by most players.

A person can be too engrossed into the virtual world that they lose touch with the real world. This is observed in a child’s inability to socialize and make real friends. These children may be observed to have imaginary friends who are characters in their favorite sporting events, whom they treat as though they were alive and part of their social life. This behavior may be carried on to adulthood, making the person in question to be a social misfit with no friends.

It is the role of a mother or father to add outdoor games and other activities that include human connections in their kid’s play routine. This helps to improve their capacity to form and maintain healthy connections with other people. The risks of sci fi games over-shadow the benefits.
