Future of 3D Technology- From Picture Holograms to Cell Phone Displays

By Carolina Lou

While watching star wars and such other spy movies, we are generally fascinated about communication devices generating 3D holograms. Some parts of the entertainment industry and advertisement industry are using three dimensional technologies through holograms to create a mind blowing effect. They want to increase the user experience when they sit and watch television or a movie in the movie hall. Taking inspiration from this technology and popular star war movies, HP has come up with a smart new concept with their glass free almost holographic 3D displays.

These displays are created for smart phone, tablets and watches for the users who want to have a future technology in their reach. The holograms produced by these displays are visible up to one meter with 90 degree arc. There have been several displays with 3D hologram projections and a couple of projectors as well, but they are unable to give high quality displays. If you will watch images produced by them from a certain distance of angle, the image will be distorted.

However, this glass free almost holographic 3D display developed by HP will change from every angle. It is as you are interacting to a real image but in three dimensional. A different view from different angle without any distortion is surely great like those star wars holograms in the movie. HP has used a different kind of technology in creating this kind of smart holographic displays. A special backlight that can create visually clear and uniform images that looks intact from every angle. The researchers and developers behind this technology are planning to increase the size of the display, to use them in television and big screens.

Some people who might not be aware of the difference between 3D displays and holographic 3D displays would consider them similar. Yes, three dimensional display technologies have been in use for quite some time, but these holographic projectors are taking it to the next level with a futuristic eye. The viewers will not have to use their Polaroid glasses to see the 3D effect as you have to usually. You can watch the images clearly in 3 dimensions without any glasses with your own eyes. It is as you are watching a moving image in front of you. You can walk around it seeing it from every angle, which is not possible in three dimensional displays.

There is no need to have specialized versions of images or content for these displays. You can convert any basic 2 dimensional image or content into a holographic three dimensional projections. it is quite apt for the marketing industry where companies are fighting with each other to woo their viewers and buyers. If you want to make it suitable for your advertisement, want to benefit from this futuristic technology, it is time to contact Olomagic and make it your own.
