A Few Apple IPhone Tips You Can Use

By Greg Holmes

It was less than three years ago, in July 2007, when the breakthrough technology embodied in the iPhone was first made available to the general public. The iPhone was an instant hit, changing the smart phone business drastically by making a previously complex technology accessible to the masses because of ease-of-use. This device is constantly gaining in popularity and most users are eager to learn any great Apple iPhone tips that will help them make even better use of this amazing digital tool.

In Apple iPhone news, one of the first general iPhone tips that many people are surprised to learn is how easy it is to rearrange the application icons on your iPhone. There are four default icons at the bottom of the phone when it comes out of the box, and those are shown all the time that you are browsing the iPhone apps, even when you flip to a second or third screen of applications.

One of the best Apple iPhone tips you should know is how to rearrange the apps. This can be done by touching and holding any of the iPhone icons until all the icons start to shake. At that point you can touch an icon and drag it to the place you want it. You can drag it to a new page by dragging over to the left or right edge of the screen and dropping it on the new screen. When you are happy with how your apps are arranged, click the home button and the applications will be set in their new locations.

If the application does not have the X in the circle, then it is a default iPhone application and cannot be deleted. But what if you don’t want those default applications that you rarely, if ever use cluttering up your iPhone screen? You can group the applications you don’t use much by simply dragging them to the next page or to the last page so they are out of the way. In this way you are able to prioritize the applications you want to see first.

You have even more control over arranging your applications from within the iTunes software program. iTunes is the free application that allows you to not only manage your music collection, but lets you manage and sync your iPhone software as well. When you are in iTunes, you can also drag icons down onto a “new” page that will be created. You will see a series of dots just above the permanent app icons that those dots indicate how many application screens you have.

Here’s another that many consider to be the best of the Apple iPhone tips you can learn. If you ever want to capture whatever is currently on the screen, then you can take an iPhone screenshot. All you need to do to capture the screenshot is press the power button at the same time that you press the home button. If you don’t have your phone muted, you will hear a click just like a camera shutter to let you know the screenshot was taken. To find your screenshot, just go into the Photo application and look in the album called “Camera Roll” and you will find it there.
