Everywhere you go, when a cell phone rings, you here an MP3 ringtone playing. This is usually the persons favorite song. At this point in time, every single phone has MP3 ringtone capability and that is something that really has evolved from the first cell phone. Teenagers in this day don’t realize that when we were younger, we had monophonic ringtones which were robotic sounding versions of our favorite songs! There are so many people these days that make custom ringtone for their phone. This is a straight out and simple way.

It’s a surprise that more phones don’t suggest the ability to make your own ringtones, especially with the new technology that is out there! It is very easy to do from both your phone and the internet if you have the knowledge and do the research! All phone carriers and websites seem like they want to make a quick buck from the popularity of MP3 ringtones and it’s a shame that more sites don’t tell you how to make your own. Ringtones definitely do add that next step of personalization to your device!

There are so many websites that allow you to make your own custom ringtones from music on your computer. Although the websites that you can download the ringtones from are convenient, few people want to pay $1 to $3 per ringtone through a website! It’s so easy and simple to make your own ringtones. Cut the best part of the song and use it, get a unique song that you may not be able to find on the website; the possibilities are endless and great!

Doing a simple internet search will get you many results on the way to make a ringtone from the internet, a program or even your own phone. Most advanced devices such as Blackberry, Droid or the iPhone can get you a program in their app store for making your own ringtones from the music on your phone’s library. With a web based and application based program, you can get the music directly off of your computer and e-mail the tone to yourself when completed. Very simple steps!

Once you find the site to make the ringtone, upload the song you want. There should be an option to upload from your computer and uploading is easy! Just follow the prompts! After that’s done, you can slide the dual slider bars to the beginning and ending point of what you want the tone to be. (Although most songs only allow tones that are 40 seconds long) Last but not least, click ‘create’. It will be emailed to you for use on your phone.

Making them on your phone is simple. Just do a quick search on your phone’s store to find an app that is a ringtone maker. There should be quite a few links, but choosing the most popular and top rated is definitely recommended. These programs on the iPhone and Droid are very easy to find. Blackberry has them as well, just not as many as the other two! You definitely want to make sure the song you want for the tone is already on your computer.

Once that’s downloaded and you know what song you want, it’s simple to follow the instructions to upload the song or cut the song where you want it to be for the ringtone. Since this is already on your phone, it can easily be saved or set as a ringtone right from your screen! This is probably the easiest and most convenient way to make custom ringtone.
