DISH Network is The Future of Satellite TV

By Iggy Phrast

Bigger, Better and Faster. These are the hallmarks of American progress since the dawn of the industrial revolution. These are the sought after qualities imbued in the very notion of innovation which helped bring us to the electronic era. Although many of the initial attributes have changed, we now prefer smaller to bigger to illustrate, but the drive to continuously improve continues. You don’t need to look any more than your satellite tv to recognize the attitude of advancement alive today.

The Technology of Preference

Satellite television by itself represents a remarkable achievement both in telecoms and entertainment. Pairing visionary satellite and receiver technology with increasingly different channel lineups and packages that allow you to customize your experience satellite television providers like Dishnetwork have been able to capitalize on the ideals that entertainment lovers and consumers appreciate: price, assistance and above all choice.

But as mentioned before constant improvement is just as much an illustration to me of a company’s value as anything else, and this is why I mentioned DISH Network. Two of their recent promotions can be seen as evidence of their commitment to not only to gratify consumers but to be the future of satellite TV.

HD For Life

It can be difficult to judge whether new technology will be successful and have any endurance. Just ask Betamax, Laserdiscs and Minidiscs. It is safe to say however that High definition is here to stay. If you have ever watched a basketball game or a movie on an HD channel and switched over to the regular resolution alternative you know that high-definition is clearly better. There are a continuously increasing number of programs produced in HD and many more channels that offer HD exclusively. Its easy to see that HD may one day become the norm, just as digital broadcasting officially replaced analog not too long ago.

DISH Network tips their digital high-def hat to the superiority and probable ubiquity of HD by offering FREE HD For Life. Yup. The previous fee for getting access to DISH Network HD programming has now been waived. You can now enjoy the enhanced picture, the integrated 5.1 surround sound and the overall better experience of high definition for free.

Slingloaded DVR’s

The other recent offer that proves that DISH Network is continuing on the cutting edge of home entertainment is their Slingloaded DVR. Those who have ever used a Digital recording device knows how significantly they’ve changed viewing habits. DVR’s give the power to watch your favorite programs when you want. But the new slingloaded DVR goes one step further and allows you to watch where ever you would like. Using this set top DVR you can watch your recorded programming from your computer or cell phone, anywhere you want to. Other providers allow you to watch a selection of on demand programming through specific web portals, but only DISH lets you actually access the videos recorded on your DVR remotely. Now that is really TV everywhere.

It is plain to see that DISH Network will remain one of the leading satellite TV providers.
