Grasp Nice Guy Syndrome

By Mark Shotan

Nice guy syndrome is the term used for a man who keeps finding himself in a less than favorable position with women. In fact, the phrase ‘nice guys finish last’ is a very well-known phrase. It seems that being a nice guy sometimes has little to do with actually getting the girl.

Even though so many people know this phrase well, it does not mean that it is the absolute truth. Just because you are a nice guy does not mean that you are destined to remain in the last position with women. Do girls like nice guys? You need to understand all the different types of situations that you can get into as a good man in order to really grasp what the phrase is talking about.

If you are a genuinely good man, you need to understand that other men may only pretend to be genuine in order to be a hit with the ladies. You may feel used by a lot of the women you try to connect with simply because they are not looking for the same things as you. More likely than not, you want to find the One, whereas these women may only want to find the one for tonight.

‘Bad boys’ seem to attract women the most. This is because being with a bad boy brings a certain thrill to a woman that strays away from the norm. It allows her to keep from getting bored and to do the things that she wouldn’t normally otherwise do, behaving in ways that excite her and perhaps go against what society thinks.

A so-called good man often has a selfish objective. He will do what it takes and behave however he must in order to have his way. Once he has done this, he will usually get up and go, leaving a woman brokenhearted.

A genuinely good guy does things for others before doing things for himself. He puts his woman of interest first, and goes out of his way to please her. Many times, these men are thought of as friends instead of as potential romantic partners. Many genuinely good men get taken advantage of because of their willingness to do favors and the fact that they shy away from confrontation.

In general, good men are usually more in tune with their emotions, which makes them perhaps less manly to some women, who then look at them as not much more than a friend. A good man could choose to adopt some ‘bad boy’ traits in order to secure a romantic connection with the woman he desires. It is also a good idea for a nice guy to stop believing that he is destined to finish last.

However, you are hardly going to be negatively affected by nice guy syndrome when it comes to quickly finding your true life partner. You are more likely to get to this part of your journey before the bad boy, who is only interested in games.
