Online Dating – The Importance Of An Imaginative Profile

By Matt Fuller

Registering for dating online sites is becoming one of the fastest and most popular way to exponentially expand your potential mating pool and connect with other like minded singles looking for casual encounters or serious romance. Exploring dating online also means spending less time and money meeting other people in locales that might be otherwise pricey. Dating sites help cut out expenses such as drinks, admission tickets and meals when all you want to do is meet someone. When exploring online dating why should singles pay special attention to their dating profile and headlines?

Invitations to hot dates won’t magically appear into an email inbox on their own. In fact, there is a fair bit of competition in the dating world. Candidates need to sell themselves and come across as interesting, original and attractive.

Candidates have to work hard to attract prospective partners and that means creating an original and witty attention gabbing profile. Memorable profiles will generate real interest; forgettable ones will just make you appear uninspiring.

Originality is Key

Remember to quantify all points mentioned with details. Instead of writing, “I like Chinese food”, say something like, “late night spring rolls are a perfect way to satisfy a late night Oriental food itch”. Choose appropriate descriptive words that stand out in someone’s mind and try to think of eccentric experiences and examples that describe uniqueness.

Strike a Pose

A flattering picture taken in a natural pose shows the profiler is comfortable with spontaneous shots and likes to have a good time. A striking pose not intentionally done for the camera usually exudes confidence. The picture provides a good visual not only of physical appearance, but of body language, confidence, style and personality traits as well. Try to relate the picture in some way to information published in the profile.

Remain Upbeat and Positive

Profilers that write negative comments, even when asked to comment on a negative issue, risk leaving a pessimistic vibe. Also turn a negative comment into a positive one somehow, or add a positive “but” to appear optimistic and positive. Negative sentences on their comments, even when solicited to do so, leave a bad and pessimistic vibe. Bright and bubbly people attract like minded mates.
