By Cathy Mercer

When children experience this firsthand, they will likely follow this action.

Materials that emit less or no toxic gases are highly recommended which can help in enhancing the quality of the air in the building and in the whole school. Absences caused by respiratory problems, like asthma, can be reduced by having a high quality of air. Toxic free furniture, ceiling tiles and wall systems are a great option for this and other materials that do not release toxic gases.

They can install shades and blinds to reduce the glare of the sunlight. If the room is in place where there is no window, they can install lightshelves, which can bounce sunlight deep into the room and provide even distribution of light.
