By John Smith_

Let’s imagine you’re in the center of a grab game of basketball and it becomes a little rough. You’re fouled hard and you go down breaking your ankle. What are you going to do? If you’ve health insurance plan, no problem, contact an ambulance. On the other hand, without having insurance, then what? It is a drive to the hospital inside your buddy’s car, and then it gets ready for a barrage of medical charges in the mail.

So the solution to the question of “what’s the best health insurance plan?” is the health insurance plan you have when it’s needed. But consider realistic, understanding that you want it, which kind of insurance is good for you. The absolute easiest way to obtain coverage is through your employer. Don’t worry before you use it. The next easiest way is to stay with your parent’s plan as long as possible.

New health reform regulations have expanded this type of coverage for all teenagers in the United States. In some states the extended coverage can last until the age of 30.

If you are still in school then check out the programs provided by your school. Most two and 4 year colleges offer coverage to students not insured by their parent’s policy. This is group insurance policy like what you’ll get when you are signed up through your employer. This type of college health insurance plan is normally only available to full-time students. Depending on the school, part time students may be out of luck.

You’re out of school, but self employed, what exactly are your choices. The entire big health care providers offer plans tailored to small company-self employed. These plans offer lower premiums; however, they also skimp on insurance plan, so read the agreement very carefully before agreeing to sign up. For example, same healthcare provider may offer two plans. Plan A has a lower premium, but greater insurance deductible and no dental insurance plan, while Plan B has a higher premium, no insurance deductible and premium dental coverage. The old saying of “you obtain what you pay for” is actually in play here, so once more, read the agreement.
