Candle Selling How To
By Leroy Allen
The United States is facing its biggest economic challenge since the Great Depression and Americans are more than ever looking for additional ways to make some extra money. Making and selling candles is certainly one possibility to get started in business and make some money on the side. The scents and sense of relaxation that can be derived from lighting a candle gives that business great potential. Candles can be offered to loved ones without breaking the bank and the ambiance that they create in a room is simply wonderful.
Starting your own candle business can mean serious extra money in your pockets. A lot of people choose to buy their candles wholesale, as this gives them leverage to get lower purchase prices, which in turn results in higher profit margins. Since you’ll pretty much be learning as you go, it’s highly recommended to test the waters first with small investments and then grow as you master the business and build your clientele and make more sales.
Candle selling has greatly gained in popularity lately, and there’s no shortage of companies that provide the necessary tools to launch your own candle selling business. We’ve all seen the candle parties where the real goal is to pass out the catalogs and take orders, but there’s a demonstrator there to set people in the mood, bringing candles and lighting them, and setting up some games. You’re going to be doing the same thing, except that, as a wholesale candle buyer, the entire profit from the sales proceeds is yours to keep, not some percentage after your distributor gets his/her cut.
Should you actually know how to make candles, then there’s nothing stopping you from making candles in large quantities. You could (should) use a part of your home and set it up as candle factory/office. You’ll be saving tons of money by not having to rent. At this point all you have to do is get candle making kits to make your different candles and you’re literally in business.
When you’re just getting started, ask your friends and family what they think of the designs that you come up with; keep the ones that are their favorites. It’s also a good idea to ask them what they purchase usually, look up on the internet for popular designs and at what time people buy them the most, and then you just prepare yourself to produce the popular ones when people want them the most.
If you already enjoy making candles, then you definitely should put your talent to good use and start your own wholesale candle business. Even if you don’t make the candles yourself the opportunities to make money are literally endless.
