Questions You Need To Ask Your Credit Repair Company Before Hiring Them

By Jeffrey Jackson

When searching for a company that deals with credit repair, it is good to have some questions handy to ask them. Research some topics ahead of time and see how they answer. Here are some of our favorite questions regarding credit repair companies.

1.) How long will the company take to raise your credit score? Answers to this question will vary from company to company. See what your company claims they can do.

No credit company can guarantee an actual number that you will increase with using their company. Since there are so many different factors that determine how much your credit score will increase, you will find some clients increase by more than 50 points in 6 months, but can also find some that don’t. All of this happens within the same company.

2.) How is the company going to actually provide credit repair? What things are they going to do? The company won’t give detailed specifics, but there are general things that are known by most people. See if the company will tell you what ways they will repair credit. If they won’t talk to you about it until after you sign up with them that is a red flag.

3.) How many different services do they provide? Not every customer will have the same needs, or be in the same situations. What does the company do to include all their customer’s needs?

4.) What are the fees for their services? Are there any upfront costs? All costs and fees should be provided in writing at no charge.

5.) What are the company’s credentials? Are they certified in credit repair? Ask what the credentials are of people that will particularly be working with your case if you hire them.

6.) What type of record keeping will the company keep to show you that they are paying off your creditors? How are they going to assure you that your debts are being paid by the company? This can be important because you want to make sure they are actually doing their job.
