How to get rid of hemorrhoids is one of the most asked questions when it comes to piles treatment. That depends mostly on what kind of hemorrhoids you have. There are two primary types – internal and external, this is because you have internal and external veins that surround the rectum and anus. Internal hemorrhoids occur when there is too much pressure on the internal hemorrhoidal veins. External hemorrhoids occur when external veins around the anus become swollen.

Now that you know what they are let’s see try and answer how to get rid of hemorrhoids. The most extreme method is surgical, and this is used usually for internal hemorrhoids. This includes methods such as Rubber Band Litigation, this is a methods that chokes off hemorrhoids and causes them to fall off. Another surgical method is Infrared Photocoagulation, this is a small infrared light that coagulates the vein which causes the hemorrhoid to shrink. The first methods you try should be self care, these are known as preventative measures. A few of these methods include eating between 25 and 30 grams of fiber a day, increasing physical activity, and adding stool softeners to your diet.

Some people prefer natural answers to how to get rid of hemorrhoids. An example of this is topical application of astringent herbs such as Witch Hazel compress or cream. This drug store staple is made from the leaves and bark of a plant called Hamamelis Virginiana. It’s not taken internally but is instead applied topically to the anal area.
