Top 3 – Buying A Home

By Brian Nathans

When you set out to buy a home, so many concerns can cross your mind, which is natural since this is one of the most important parts of your life. However, you could also get lost looking at the devils in the details. While what you want your home to look or feel like is entirely up to you, there are some very important factors that should always be in mind when looking to buy a home.

For the homebuyers with growing families, one of the most important parts of the home buying process is not only finding a neighborhood and a home that suits your desires, but also where your children will be spending much of their time outside of their home and begin learning and molding their lives: school. You can learn about the school district that surrounds your potential neighborhood. You can begin by asking the neighbors around the house you are looking to buy, or you could go directly to your real estate agent. You can also check out the schools website or look a sites such as schoolmatters.org and greatschools.org which allow you to compare schools and school districts along with ratings of schools across the country.

Make sure to take a long look around the house and make sure you pay special attention to the level of repair or disrepair of your potential home. If you find something broken, decaying, molding whatever the case maybe, be sure to talk with the seller or your agent and ask if they will fix it or if it’s your responsibility.

Check to see if the house is stable, check to see if there are any problems with the walls, floor, stairs (if there are any), carpeting, etc. and inquire about these issues with the seller or your real estate agent even if everything appears to be fine. Always be sure to ask questions on your possible abode, make sure you are getting the best possible.

Finally, make sure that the house you are looking at is the house that you want. Is the Front yard big enough for you? What about the backyard? Are their enough rooms to suit your needs? Do you want to change the floor plan or is it perfect as it is? The houses appliances, look, feel is all up to you. Whether you like the current floral arrangement outside the house or you prefer carpeting in the halls over wood is completely up to you, just make sure that you will be happy with what will be your future home all year-round.
