Many people are finally waking up and figuring out that most of the food products sold in supermarkets are killing us. Basically any food item that is sold frozen or in a box or a pouch will contain more additives, preservatives, and chemicals than actual nutrition. Nutritionists have been struggling to make people understand the importance of reading nutrition labels and cooking their own food. Finally it seems many people are starting to listen and heed the warnings so many nutritionists have been making about prepackaged and frozen foods. Consequently nutritionists are beginning to use Twitter for business versus just for personal use. Twitter has become a type of marketing firm for nutritionists who want to promote their beliefs about food, health, and fitness.

People want food advice while they are making moves. Nutritional newbies need access to expert advice when searching for a healthy entree at a restaurant, shopping for the family at the grocery store, or deciding which diet best suits their fitness goals. Nutritionists are using Twitter to communicate with people who want help. They can look for a nutritionist online and then follow that professional on Twitter. Health professionals Tweet tips and advice they think are useful throughout the day. The best part about nutritionists using Twitter for business is that people can Tweet a fitness question while they are at the store or the restaurant and receive a response within minutes.

Some nutritionists are becoming online celebrities on Twitter. They carve out a particular niche for themselves and post Tweets relative to their followers interests. Some nutritionists Tweet advice all about choosing healthy breakfast foods. Some Tweet advice about which foods to consume to improve your immune system and fight chronic disease. Many popular nutritionists have tens of thousands of followers on Twitter and have considerable sway over what these followers eat everyday. Twitter is a fantastic outlet to share information and a lot of nutritionists are using it as their own marketing firm to advertise their books, recipes, and healthcare services.

It is a positive sign that people are reaching out to nutritionists for advice. Most ailments and chronic health issues are the repercussions of malnutrition. The majority of people do not know how significantly diet will impact overall health. People also lack an understanding of what true food is and the differences between food and “food products.” Carrots, rice, and salmon are food however Toaster Strudels, Stove Top Stuffing, and Pizza Bites are not. Supermarkets are overflowing with processed, refined, and synthetic food products that are poisonous to the human body.

Hopefully this trend of seeking nutritional advice from professionals through social media sites like Twitter continues. Many chronic diseases we associate with getting old are caused by a lifetime of poor diet. When you eat poison your whole life you should not be surprised when your body breaks down. Diseases like Alzheimer’s, arthritis, and cardiovascular disease are caused by chronic inflammation. And when you eat processed, refined, and synthetic food products your organs become inflamed causing stress on your entire body that weakens it with time. Nutritionists have been talking about this for years but it seems they are only just recently beginning to listen. The more nutritionists that Tweet the better folks will eat.
